Distance: Triathlon 400 Meter Swim, 15.4 Mile Bike, 3.1 Mile Run
This race is being held to raise funds to support Taylor Love and to
raise awareness and funds to help fight neuroblastoma. Taylor is a local
resident who is fighting neuroblastoma.
Swim: Distance is a 400 meter indoor pool snake swim. Swimmers
will start at 6:30am sharp according to your estimated swim time.
Swimmers will go off every 15 seconds until every swimmer has entered
the water. If you miss your swim time you will be allowed to enter the
water only after the last swimmer has started and your time will be
based on your scheduled start time.
Bike Course: The bike course: Exit transition area then head down
Ferndale to the W&OD trail where you will take a left onto the
trail (this is a sharp left turn), then out to the red barn at Ashburn
rd. (partlows, sharp turn around) then back to ferndale to (right hand
turn and a left hand turn into the transition area. Please note that
police will be at the crossing intersections during the bike but you
will need to look for their direction for a safe crossing. Distance 15.4
miles.
Run Course: The run is a short out and back course on the streets
and on the W&OD Trail. Exit the transition area then head out
Ferndale, left onto vine street, left onto center and up gravel path
then head right on wood trail, u turn at the stop sign then head west on
the trail and then enter the gravel path to crestview turn around and
reverse the route. Total Distance 3.10 miles
A Race meeting will be held at 6PM and 7pm to answer questions regarding
the course. If you are unable to pick up your packet before race
morning note that lines may be long, so come early!
About Taylor: We honor local resident and pediatric cancer
warrior, Taylor Love. In her short life, Taylor has battled 2 cancers,
Neuroblastoma and chemo-induced leukemia, she has received a bone marrow
transplant, fought through kidney failure and has undergone countless
surgeries, procedures, pokes, tests and scans. Help us celebrate
Taylor's 7 years of life; and continue to bring awareness and funding to
find less toxic treatments for pediatric cancer; a very much neglected
disease.
